5 reasons why RCB have struggled so far in IPL 2017

**5 reasons why RCB have struggled so far in in IPL 2017**

1.Right Players Combination

RCB is not able to decide yet what is their best team Combination. In every match, we have seen lots of changes being made from RCB team selectors. In first few matches most of the RCB players were injured and I think that was the time when they lost their momentum and never stood solid to recover from those injuries. The team was expected to boost their performance in the presence of Virat Kohli who missed few first games due to the shoulder injury. But luck is not going their way and the team is just sinking down every match.

2.Opening woes

After K.L. Rahul ruled out from IPL 2017, RCB has tried a number of opening combinations but none of the combination seems to be working for them.Apart from Virat Kohli, all 3 other openers Chris Gayle, Mandeep Singh and Shane Watson are not able to make any impact.West Indies big batsman has done well in the past for Royal Challengers but not been able to continue his performance since last year. The team has tried Shane Watson and Mandeep Singh at the different position but they are not able to leave any impact so far.

3.Lack of contribution from the middle order

Opening batsmen are not the only culprit, Middle order batsmen and their all-rounders are not able to do much too.Kedhar Jadhav was in a good form during test series against England but apart from just one good knock, he is not able to do much for the team.Stuart Binny and Pawan Negi are not been able to play what they are capable of.The biggest concern for the RCB is the form of AB De Villiers. AB always remained as a star batsman for RCB and the way he plays, it is a treat to watch. That’s why he is having a big fan following in India. But he is not been able to stand up to the fans expectation yet and that might be causing RCB think tank to look for a replacement.

4.Lack of penetration in their bowling

RCB bowlers have disappointed with their performance so far.The addition of Tymal Mills was expected to give some strength to RCB bowling but the decision went a wrong way.Chahal who performed well with the bowl last year also disappointing the selectors.Samuel Badree seems to be bowling hitting good length but he is not getting much support from the other end.RCB need someone to take responsibility and provide them regular breakthroughs.RCB selectors have to find the right bowling combination to raise their winning hopes.

5. The Chinnaswamy surface

Chinnaswamy Stadium has been considered as a batting paradise as most of the high scoring games have been played on this ground. With RCB weak bowling attack the team relying on their batsmen most of the time and they want pitch to be a flat one.But this year Chinnaswamy surface is not batting friendly with the ball doing a bit for the bowlers and uneven bounce.

Mumbai Indians and Pune Supergiants have done well to read the condition when playing on Chinnaswamy pitch. Both teams took off the pace of the ball and RCB found it difficult to get away with big shots.
